Matthew Hobbs

Matthew is an experienced entertainment lawyer, producer, and artist manager, with over three decades of experience in entertainment spanning four continents. He brings a global perspective and deep industry knowledge to his clients, complemented by his legal training in England and the US. Matthew’s career highlights include producing acclaimed films such as “Boogie Woogie” with an all-star cast including Amanda Seyfried and Gillian Anderson, the award-winning feature “Conspiracy of Silence” starring Hugh Bonneville and Brenda Fricker, and “American Cowslip” starring Cloris Leachman and Peter Falk; creating compelling television, including for major broadcasters like the BBC, Film4, and Discovery. He has also guided the careers of a select group of artists whose films have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, including two Palme d’Or winners. He has secured roles for his clients in projects with prestigious filmmakers and studios like A24, Film4, and Martin Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions, and negotiated lucrative endorsement deals with top brands like Ermenegildo Zegna and Hermès. Matthew has extensive experience in all aspects of film and television law, including development, production, finance, distribution, and intellectual property. He has drafted and negotiated agreements for major studios, independent productions, and individual artists. Matthew is a patron of Film Independent, former Vice Chair of the Beverly Hills Bar Association’s Entertainment Law section, a Board member of the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation, and a member of the Esports Bar Association. In his downtime, Matthew likes to watch a film, read a book, ski a piste, spot a plane, or play Mario Kart.
